How much Good Dog Food should I feed my dog? |

With Good Dog Food, any dog in good health should become a passionate eater so your dog’s activity level, age, breed should be the best indicators for the amount he or she should eat. The following chart has been created based on what a healthy dog with a moderate activity level would need each day (note: Each container has about ten cups and will feed a 15 pound dog for one week.)

Why is grass-fed beef better? |
|
Grass-fed beef is healthier than grain-fred for many reasons. It is lower in saturated fat, is much less liky to be contaminated with E. Coli, and it has the proper ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fatty acids. Additionally, grass-fed beef has far more Beta Carotene, Vitamin E, and Vitamin A than grain-fed. Grass-fed beef is also better for the environment, because of the symbiotic relationship between cows and grass. Grain is a very unnatural food for cows, and is not digested easily by their systems.

What is the best method for feeding my dog? |
|
A twice a day regimen is most beneficial, if possible, as it allows your dog’s blood sugar level the chance to drop without going into starvation mode. Leaving food out for grazing is not the best approach for this reason, and is definitely not recommended with Good Dog Food as it is perishable.

How should I transition to Good Dog Food? |
|
Good Dog Food is made fresh using only wholesome ingredients, so we have yet to see the food visibly disrupt any dog’s digestive system, even when making an immediate switch. It is generally recommended when altering you dog’s diet, however, to make the transition over about five days, since dogs can only develop one set of digestive enzymes at a time. By gradually incorporating Good Dog Food into his existing diet over this amount of time, your dog will have time to develop a new set of enzymes for the new ingredients. You should have no fears that no matter which method you choose your dog will quickly become well-adjusted to his new diet, and will likely be demanding it!

How should I prepare the food? |
|
The preparation is already done for you! Just thaw in the refrigerator and serve. The food is best served at room temperature but please do not microwave the food as it will destroy some of the nutrients we have tried to keep fresh.

Can I mix Good Dog Food with my dog’s current dry food? |
|
If you wish to use Good Dog Food with another brand you are currently using, please do so in such a way that one brand makes up 85% of your dog’s total diet and the other 15%. There is a delicate balance of nutrients in each manufacturer’s product, and combining two products may interfere with this balance. Good Dog Food can of course be fed as a treat anytime without fear of throwing off this balance or can be used as a topping for your dog's current diet. Forgive us, however, if you find your dog is just eating the Good Dog Food and leaving the rest.

Why can I only order online in Nevada, Arizona, and California? |
|
Although our food is now produced in Oregon, Ian and I started the company in Las Vegas where we still live. We deliver or ship all online orders ourselves from Las Vegas and have not yet found an economical way of making deliveries elsewhere. Our food must be kept frozen and therefore it becomes quite costly in terms of packaging as well. As much as we would love to ship all over the United States, we are still a small company and don't have the volume to make it feasable for you, and for us. If you would really like to order Good Dog Food, however, please call us for a quote on how much it might cost to ship to your area.

How will my food be shipped to me? |
|
Your food will be delivered to you door in a cooler within five days from the time your order is received. It will come via UPS or be delivered by a company driver. If nobody is home it will be left at your front door.
